Hi, my name is Scout, and today we're doing an interview with Sebastian B., age 7, and Amelia B, age 5!
Scout: How did you learn about Shukrana?
Seb: I learned about Shukrana because kids in India had no money and I wanted to help them.
Amelia: I learned about Shukrana at my house with Scout, my cousin.
Scout: The first time you gave money, where did you get the money?
Seb: From my piggy bank!
Amelia: I got it from my [piggy] bank.
Scout: Do you remember how much money you gave?
Seb: Ten dollars and fifty cents, I think.
Amelia: Two dollars.
Scout: Amelia, are you sure? You raised a lot more than two dollars.
Amelia: Five? Six? Seven? Eight?
Scout: Way higher!
Amelia: One hundred?
Scout: LOWER!
(Amelia actually raised around $18!)
Scout: Are there any other times you wanted to raise money?
Seb: I wanted to raise money when I was on the street all alone with no one to help. I wanted to make a lemonade stand, but it was too cold, dark [and late] so I had to stay home.
Scout: now, why don't YOU ask ME some questions, and YOU can be the interviewer?
Seb: I want to be the interviewer.
Seb: So what do you want to do for Shukrana?
Scout: Good question! I really want to help kids get more involved in Shukrana and helping out.
Seb: I want to help kids in India and help them to get more money for schools in different communities.
Scout: Why is going to school important?
Seb: Because if you don't have school, you won't get enough money to have a house.
Amelia: Because you can learn. When people don't have enough money, you can't go to school. If someone goes to school for a long time, they can get money!
Scout: What's your favourite part about helping charity? How did you feel?
Seb: I felt that I needed to help.
Amelia: Do a lemonade stand? I feeled happy [when I gave the money]. I feeled sad too.
Scout: Amelia, why did you feel sad?
Amelia: Because of the people who need it - they didn't have any money for school.
