What is the Shukrana Foundation and how did it begin?
The Shukrana Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization that works to provide, promote and advance education for children in India, Peru and Canada. Darshan Arora, our founder, envisioned a charity that would help children in India have education and the ability to go to school/college/university. To learn more about how the charity began, please read our story.

The Shukrana Foundation was officially established on April 4th, 2014.
What is the Shukrana Foundation's Vision?
To advance education by providing school supplies, textbooks and tuition fees to the poor and underprivileged deserving students in schools in India; To advance education by providing floor coverings, basic school supplies, books, computers, inexpensive shelters for elementary and middle schools in depressed rural areas in India and Peru; To promote the health of school children by providing basic needs such as drinking water equipment to schools in India and other countries where no such facilities exist; To enhance education in India, Canada and Peru by offering awards, scholarships to school, college or university students who excel in certain fields such as mathematics and science; To help the poor and displaced victims affected by serious floods anywhere in the world through world charitable organizations.

The executive director(s) would make a trip to India and/or Peru to determine the need of schoolchildren/schools in rural/poor areas every year. The executive director(s) would provide them with the necessary supplies.

Thanks to the wonderful support of our donators, the Shukrana Foundation (in collaboration with other organization) has worked to help 700+ children in India, and 200+ widowed mothers! To learn more about the who-what-where of our work, please visit our work and our results and impacts.
